Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park Rocky Mountain National Park has 355 miles of hiking trails. These range from flat lakeside strolls to quite steep peak climbs.
Hiking in Hovenweep National Monument Visitors to Hovenweep can enjoy short hikes, natural quiet, and some of the finest examples of ancestral Puebloan architecture in the Southwest.
Hiking in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park A deep, sheer canyon, this wild gorge provides breath-taking vistas, and contains the tallest cliff in Colorado (the "Painted Wall" stands 2250 feet high). Rim trails range in difficulty from easy to strenuous, and extremely difficult trails exist inside the canyon, but require a permit.
Hiking in Mesa Verde National Park Mesa Verde is the largest collection of ancestral Puebloan cliff dwelling communities in North America. Several well-established trails, most of which are easy to moderate, take you right to many of the large ruins.
